Does it matter whether you are on the phone with your girlfriend, boyfriend, Babe, Bestie, husband, wife, or partner for personal reasons or even your Boss for professional reasons?   Who doesn’t want to look cool with the latest smartphone in hand whether you decide to hide it or flaunt it in the eyes of your haters or frenemies? We all love to hold our latest high-tech phones in our hands while we make our fashion statements. You just have to decide if you want to hide or flaunt it and show it off. Other times, you may find it necessary to hide it especially if cell phones are not permitted during school or work hours.

Don’t be surprised if the new iPhone-16 makes you feel like you are celebrating Sweet-16. Whether it’s back to school, back to the office, or play, we all have to shop for the coolest and latest fashions or tech devices that make our lives easier and sweeter. If you are shopping for gifts, you can check this off your list of Things To do because the iPhone 16 does make a perfect gift for Sweet 16 or any other special occasion.

Some of us may even require special technology devices just to be able to function every day depending on whether you have a disability or a medical condition that may require specialized technology to monitor your fitness and health.

I consider myself an inclusive shopper. I am open to different styles, fashions, and tech devices available to inclusive people and communities. I will say that the latest iPhone16 has caught my eye.

By now most of us have heard about Apple’s new release of the iPhone16-Pro, and iPhone 16, featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) plus there is an all-new Apple Watch Series 10, Airpods-4, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Airpods Max that come in cool, fresh new colors. Let’s not forget that there is also an Airpods Pro 2

When I visited Apple.com, here is what I saw. I took a screenshot of the latest iPhone-16  for my Hi-Tech Journal. You can visit www.apple.com to see for yourself if you haven’t already.

It looks like people will want to fight over it and other people will  even be jealous of those of us who are among the first to get it..

As for Android vs. iPhone users,  there will always be a debate among Android and iPhone users—maybe even high-stakes debates as seen in the political arena today.

Here is what I will say. At one point or another in life, I have used both Android and iPhones, and rarely have I been an unsatisfied customer but I do have preferences for various features I like to see offered for inclusive people.

Here are five reasons why I think Apple’s iPhone 16 and latest Apple Watch & Airpods releases are not only a wonderful option for me but also great for inclusive shoppers & differently-abled people with disabilities.

1. Improved Audio Recording:

It has video recording with improved audio where you can isolate the voice of speakers and minimize background noises such as distracting sounds in your natural environment. I think this feature is very useful for me or anyone who is recording themselves for a social media post or podcast and needs to minimize those background noises that sound like distractions. For example, I am a neurodiverse individual and I can say that I would like to be able to take videos where I could minimize the sound of wind on windy days or other sounds in the environment ranging from noisy city traffic to noisy rural tractors cutting grass.  I think this is a very useful feature for neurodiverse individuals and differently-abled people who may have a low tolerance for annoying background sounds.

Of course, people like me may be able to wear noise-cancellation headphones in the moment when I am recording a video but I should not have to listen to annoying background sounds later when I am watching my video and playing it back or especially before I  post it on social media or anywhere.

2. Improved Camera:

The iPhone-16 also boasts an Improved camera with a better ultra-wide lens while Pro Models have a 5x Telephoto. I also love the user-friendly Camera-Control button on the side of the iPhone that gives me the ability to control my camera to take photos and videos as easily as one touch.

3. Improved Airpods Pro with Hearing Test Feature

Looking at the latest Airpods, I love the fact that the Airpods Pro  now can give me a valid and clinical Hearing Test.

Wow! Talk about convenience and reliability.

4. Apple Watch Series 10 can Alert me if I have Sleep Apnea

Yes, as for the latest Apple Watch Series 10, I like the fact that it can diagnose Sleep Apnea. This can be a matter of life and death as Sleep Apnea has been linked to a long list of life-threatening conditions. like stroke, heart disease, or diabetes.

5. Apple Watch Larger & Brighter Display

Another feature I  like is the larger brighter display which I think is great for differently-abled individuals with various visual challenges.

I think that it’s a good idea for us to get an Eye Exam with our  Annual Physical to keep on top of our Eye Health but when I hear that the Apple Watch Series 10 offers a larger and brighter display that’s so helpful for my eyes and other people with vision issues especially if you don’t have perfect 20/20 vision. Of course, if you have challenges with your vision, I think that an Ophthalmologist is still the best person to speak with to find out if the larger display or other hi-tech features like a magnifier would be helpful to you.

Looks Smart & Smooth for a Fashion & Style Reset

A bonus feature for me is this new technology looks great on me. Every time I look down at my phone, it makes me look smart and smooth and gives me the Fashion & Style Reset I need and deserve. Who doesn’t like to look smart and smooth when you pull out your latest smartphone like an iPhone 16, whether you walk around the office, down the street, or the Runway?

Other Valuable Features

There are some features that are not new to the iPhone but are worth pointing out and still very important if you are an inclusive shopper with a Cognitive Disability. For example, did you know that you and your loved ones with cognitive challenges can set up Assistive Access on your iPhones? It promises to give you an IOS experience and apps optimized for assistive access. This will provide you with more independence on your iPhone. Some of the benefits of this are that items on your screen appear bigger, have higher focused features, easier navigation and you should find it easier to understand what actions are possible for you to do.

There are also some other valuable features that I would like to highlight, although the following features are not new.

I mention them because  I think it’s important for inclusive shoppers to get familiar with the Accessibility Features that already exist on our smartphones especially if you represent a platform for people with disabilities or differently-abled people or people with various medical conditions that may impact your abilities at some level.

For instance., I also like the fact that Apple iPhones already have Vision Accessibility features built in such as Voiceover, Typing Feedback, and Audio Descriptors which are the kind of features that would be extremely helpful to people living with various levels of blindness where hearing descriptions of people, places or scenery are extremely helpful when you are not able to see for yourself.

This can provide you with  a greater sense of empowerment as you go about your daily routines using technology.

Whether you or one of your friends or family are living with a disability or a medical condition and utilizing Assistive Technology Devices like specialized screen readers, braille displays that refresh, or special screen magnifiers that are compatible and capable of interacting with your smart-tech devices and phones, no matter what supports you require, just use them proudly and show yourself and the world who you were born to be.

Another feature that is not necessarily new but I would also like to highlight is the Voiceover screen reade. It will describe what’s happening on your device. Also, the Typing Feedback speaks letters and words as you type. For instance, the Audio Descriptors can describe the various movie scenes to you whenever you watch a movie or something else.

Some other features I like, again not new but worth mentioning are  the Magnifier, Display and Text Size, and Zoom which will magnify the entire screen for you. There is also a Reduce-Motion feature which allows you to disable things like wallpaper effects, animation effects, or other motion effects that may pose a distraction to anyone. Again it all depends on what works best for you regardless of where you fall on the diverse platform of being an inclusive person with a disability or a medical condition..

If you like the old features or the new features I highlighted and are wondering about the price of the latest iPhone 16, when I visited Apple’s official website here’s what I discovered.  You need to have a few hundred dollars in your wallet to buy this iPhone -16 which can be pre-ordered on September 13th  and available on September 20th. The price is $799 or $33.29 per month for 24 months for those who prefer a monthly payment.
