When I think of Beyonce, I find myself saying – “yes indeed, this Boss Lady is a strong, powerful lady” when you look at her beauty, fitness, powerful songs, and successful lifestyle.

Beyonce inspires us all to create a more beautiful life. She brings the kind of Star Power to influence everyone like our style, fashion, culture, self-empowerment, and entrepreneurship but she also inspires people worldwide to reach for the stars.

In fact, colleges and universities globally and nationwide have created college classes on Beyonce and utilized Beyonce’s success in academia to teach topics like culture, feminism, or gender. All you have to do is google these college classes on Beyonce as the topic and see for yourself.

She is the personification of a cultural phenomenon with the power to make you believe anything is possible, especially for women.

I will say that Beyonce inspires me to live my best life with a positive attitude, which I call Beyonce-Strong because one could argue that Beyonce is not the norm. I say this because I think of the following quote when I think of the talent that Beyonce has shared with the world.

” If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”
    – Maya Angelou

Imagine if we all found a way to get opportunities to share what makes us special in our own individualized way with the world.

Even if you may feel like your life is a mess or not normal compared to celebs we admire, imagine how much more powerful your message becomes when you get up, make your bed, and overcome the odds against you by persevering and showing everyone who you were born to be.

Here is what I find interesting about the influence of Star power. It pushes me to be more.  I like to be myself and share qualities and strengths like my creativity, curiosity, and adventurous nature with others and I see nothing wrong with channeling the beauty and success of Celebs like Beyonce in my own way. Star power can be so motivational and inspirational. She makes me want to formulate positive affirmations to create my best life. I like to take it a step further and look to create my best inclusive life.  I ask myself what that will look like?

We should all ask ourselves what our best life looks like for us.

I like to think we all bring something different to the table whether you are living with a medical condition, or whether you represent a typical person, differently-abled with a disability, or represent the LGBTQ community.

Regardless of what makes you different, imagine if you took a moment to express and list all your positive strengths with a sense of purpose. What would it sound like?

Perhaps you might say Affirmations like-

I am a talented.

I am fabulous.

I am an Extraordinary Entrepreneur.

I am a Cancer-free Conqueror.

I am Dynamic living with Muscular Dystrophy.

I am Extraordinarily Able with Autism.

I am Spina Bifida Beautiful or simply Spina Beautiful.

I am an Amazing Person with a Disability.

or I am Powerful with Pride as an LGBTQ individual.

No matter what challenges, disability, diagnosis, or disease you face in life, take a moment and imagine saying positive affirmations like this to yourself whether Beyonce or another one of your favorite celebs inspires you to do so.

I like to apply my Beyonce-Strong attitude to my life in many ways.

Here are a few examples of how she influences my DIY Inclusive Lifestyle relative to my fashion,  finances, and more.

My Beauty:

Makeup, Fashion & Style

When I see Beyonce’s sensational, inspirational influential style and positive impact on so many people, she makes me want to become the best version of myself.

She definitely makes me want to shine. I am sure she touches the lives of all different kinds of people.

Again, it doesn’t matter whether you are a typical person, a differently-abled person with a disability, living with a medical diagnosis or disease, or a member of the LGBTQ community, she makes you want to be all that you can be.

She inspires you to bring your A-Game whether it’s with your beauty, makeup, fashion, or style. For example, she has been known to use products like Sublime Bronze One Day Gel bronzers from brands like:

L’Oreal Paris

Here is what I think if it’s good enough for Beyonce to use then for sure it’s good enough for me to use.

I say L’Oreal Paris is a great choice for beauty products like skincare, cosmetics, hair care, hairstyle, and hair color. Plus, it seems fitting that it is just the right time to use it during the 2024 Olympic Season in Paris whether you are an Olympic Athlete, Olympic fan, or not even a fan.

My Mix of Inclusive Beauty Products

I always say it never hurts to mix things up.

That’s right, many more inclusive beauty products are on the market which are likely just as great so I like to mix my beauty routine and products up as well.  You’ll never find me putting my eggs in one basket whether it’s my beauty products or investment options.

For example, another celeb I like is Olympic Star, Simone Biles.

Simone has shared with the public that she uses Fenty Beauty products an inclusive cosmetic line owned by Rihanna. It offers a variety of inclusive options for various skin tones.  I have watched the longevity of Simone’s style and talent as a gymnast on the floor, the vault, the beam, you name it. I have watched her in the Olympics over the years and she appears to use long-lasting makeup that gives her glam longevity too. She shows us her gravity-defying gymnastic skills on the floor but she’s also clearly skilled at wearing long-lasting-gravity-defying make-up- a.k.a long-lasting “gravity-defying glam”.

It makes sense to me that she would want to wear makeup that will be as long-lasting as her amazing gravity-defying gymnastic skills.  In fact, she has shared with her fans and the public that she uses inclusive Beauty products from Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line such as Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matter Longwear foundation.

My confession is no secret. As you can see, I am not afraid to admit that I am not exclusive with my inclusive beauty routine. I do like to mix things up to truly experience an inclusive beauty routine. So when I am not channeling Beyonce’s Beauty routine in one way or another, you’ll find me following beauty tips from other stars like the sensational Simone Biles. I will even attempt to sing “Defying Gravity” by Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth as featured in Wicked and Glee while I do my beauty routine. I like to imagine all the possibilities for success when I wear makeup or fashions that I know successful stars like Beyonce or Simone Biles have worn.

I am intentional and purposeful in imagining and manifesting a successful lifestyle in my mind with my beauty routine and my journey to live my best life.

Now, imagine if we never allowed others to place limitations on us. Imagine living your best life and living as if you could defy gravity by being who you were born to be in so many different, inclusive ways like your makeup, fitness, fashion, style and so much more.

Let’s look some more at how I apply my Beyonce-Strong attitude to my beauty and style.

Like Beyonce, I also love to use sunkissed-style golden bronze on my skin when I wear make-up even though I may not look as bronze as Beyonce. I like to bring my own kind of bronze to life. I see all the different bronze skincare products and color tones as examples of what inclusive colors look like and for me to explore what looks best on me.

There are always various ways to achieve a healthy bronze skin tone whether you represent platforms for inclusivity, diversity, or differently-abled or LGBTQ.  For example, some of my friends who want to achieve a tan-golden bronze lavish look but have concerns about exposure to the sun; will create their look using Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Fragrance-Free Facial Drops by L’Oreal Paris.

In addition to the beauty tip from Beyonce, I like to do my makeup my way. I also like  L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Volume Mascara that’s long-wearing. Anytime it promises long-wearing I think to myself if it is long-wearing like the long-lasting makeup that Simone Biles would wear, it’ll work for me.   Its ingredients include flower oils to condition your lashes to help them feel supple to the touch. Its product description says it is good for sensitive eyes, smudge-resistant and clump-resistant, and has an ultra-soft wavy brush. The mascara promises to give you breath-taking volume and length.

For Differently-Abled people with makeup challenges due to mobility issues with your hands, consider using mascara with large grips, and easy-grip blush brushes. Also if you have limitations with mobility in your hands or arms, L’Oreal Paris the parent company of  Lancôme Paris has developed an AI-powered, handheld, motorized, computerized lipstick applicator that helps people with disabilities apply makeup. It’s called the Hapta lipstick applicator and looks like a classy, black leather robotic arm. It’s available for purchase in the Spring 2025.

If you are interested in this device for yourself, a friend, or a family member, you can register on the  Lancôme Paris website below.

My Budget-Friendly Beauty Tip:

When shopping on a budget for inclusive beauty products, I find it best to compare prices from high-end stores and Ulta Beauty to stores like your local Target and Walmart or online on Amazon. I generally find better deals, promotions, and discounts online but don’t overlook stopping in the store if you happen to be in the neighborhood to see what promotions are being offered onsite, especially in the Clearance aisles.

My Hairstyle:

Of course, the first thing I do before I even get to my makeup is my hair in the shower.

I am willing to confess that when I look in the mirror, there have been times when I have tried to style my hair or make-up to reflect the beauty of Beyonce. Who hasn’t?

Interestingly to say the least, when I am in the shower washing my hair, I have also been known to attempt to sing like Beyonce popping out lyrics like “Who Run the World, Girls” from songs like “Run the World (Girls)”  by no other than Beyonce. I have noticed that my cat will start crying as if pleading for me to stop attempting to sing like Beyonce.

In all seriousness, I reiterate that I like to keep my beauty and hairstyles inclusive. What this means for me, is that I may follow one or two of Beyonce’s Beauty routines that she has shared with us over the years but I still incorporate beauty and hairstyle routines that fit me best.

So I may not be as beautiful as Beyonce or sound as good as her when I sing inside the shower, but she inspires me to be bold enough to bring to life who I am, who I was born to be, and be my own kind of beautiful.

My Hairstyle Preferences:

During the Summer I love to create Blonde Highlights in my hair but I use extensions and have a friend help braid blonde extensions into my hair when I don’t want to put semi-permanent or permanent color in my hair and give my hair a break from color dyes.

Another  Hairstyle Highlight  Option I do:

Whenever I do use Color Dye in my hair and opt not to go to the salon, I will use products like L’Oreal Paris Couleur Experte At-Home Care- 2-Step Color and Highlights kit- French Eclair.

Overall I like to diversify my approach to a healthy lifestyle somewhat similar to a financial expert diversifying his financial portfolio. So when it comes to my beauty,  skincare, hairstyle, fitness, nutrition finances or more I always change things up as I go along in life.

 Here is what I mean.

My Skincare:

When you look at my skincare, I love to keep my skincare as inclusive as my friends. So when you look at my skincare products, you’ll discover diversity in my lipstick shades, eye shadows, and more.

There are times I like to use skincare products that are plant-based or vegan skincare brands like E.L.F. Cosmetics, which you’ve seen online and on store shelves. It’s an affordable option for a cruelty-free vegan cosmetic line that uses clean ingredients. Interesting facts: this cosmetic line was created and founded by Scott Vincent Borba, a former Ford model who has participated in Runway Fashion Shows like Calvin Klein and Versace. His co-founder was Joseph Shamah a business student at New York University, however, the current President and C.E.O. of E.L.F. Cosmetics is Tarang P.  Amin.

E.L.F. which stands for Eyes, Lips, Face offers a wide range of inclusive color tones in makeup products like foundations, concealers, and powders for diverse customers. Again, there are other vegan cosmetic brands on the market as long as you do your homework you can find what works best for you.

Okay, let’s get back to some more interesting examples of my Beyonce-Strong attitude and approach and other ways I apply it to my life.

My Inclusive and Adaptive Style & Fashion

I like to dress my best and transform myself into my own sense of who I am or who I am meant to be. This is manifested inside and out in my style and fashion with my selection of inclusive and adaptive styles. I look at Beyonce’s boldness, comfort, and confidence she displays in the various fashionable outfits she wears on or off stage, she makes me believe that  I also deserve to feel comfort and confidence in my clothing when I select inclusive, adaptive fashions that are best designed for me and my body. I like to mix and match my outfits and keep my looks fresh and versatile every day of the week.

My Financial Empowerment Approach

What’s even more amazing is how Beyonce empowers others. She brings the kind of beauty that is not just skin deep. Beyonce shows that she cares about helping others achieve a successful financial future with her BeyGood Foundation. This is a public charity foundation, she started to help students, entrepreneurs, organizations, and communities transform themselves into positive places and successful spaces of well-being, economic prosperity, generosity, and justice. We all desire success but sometimes as we saw we have good and bad days on our individualized journey to success.

Just this week we saw the stock market had one of its worst days since 1986 when the Dow dropped so hard it was jaw-dropping leaving many people worried about their finances and investments. This left hardworking people with 401K plans and even big professional investors extremely concerned about their retirement plans, investments, and impact on their financial portfolios. Imagine if everyone adopted a Beyonce-Strong approach to solving problems like this or any other issues that arise in life.

Whether you are an investor trying to figure out what to do with your finances or you are a Fashionista trying to figure out the best way to shop for the best inclusive beauty and makeup or fashions on a budget, I think of approaching everything from a perspective of strength like a Beyonce-Strong approach.  When we stay focused on Beyonce’s positive influence on our culture as a strategy and adopt this strength-based approach to handling any financial uncertainty and insecurity in the market, we may be surprised that we get the desired results.
