If you have been busy running around to go after the best Black Friday Deals, Cyber Monday Deals, or those Last-Minute-Shopper Deals and barely have time for anything else, you will be glad to know we took the time to track down our trendsetting Brand Ambassador, JamesRoy to get you a behind the scenes look at what Runway of Dreams has meant to his life and why adaptive fashions should be on your shopping list or on the shopping list of anyone who has a friend or family member who enjoys wearing adaptive fashions.

Here is what we learned from him. First, he told us that Runway of Dreams means the world to him and so many other people with disabilities. Then he paused as if fixating on a thought. Then said we can call him J.Roy because he said whenever he is doing a photo shoot for a Runway of Dreams project, he thinks of himself with a cool nickname like J.Roy because his family will sometimes refer to him as J.Roy because they want to remind him to be cool like a cat. He says it makes him feel like he is as cool as a  star like J.Lo.  He explained further that his family will remind him that he is his own self-made star simply for being who he was born to be and for being able to live a productive life with a disability everyday and still be as fashionable as anyone else regardless of having a disability or not.

We asked him to share even more about the positive impact of Runway of Dreams on his life. Here is what else he had to reveal.

J.Roy: ” Before Runway of Dreams I never saw so many people with disabilities represented in the fashion industry let alone the modeling industry. So I never knew that people with all different kinds of disabilities could be so talented in the fashion and modeling industry in so many different ways.  I never saw people like me or any other people with different disabilities shine on the Runway stage like this.”

When we asked him to tell us a little more about what this truly means and how this has changed his own perspective on his life, here is what he also revealed to us.

J.Roy:  “Just seeing so —
so many people with all different kinds of disabilities wearing all different kinds of popular clothing brands is simply amazing and inspiring to me and I imagine to the world. It makes me realize how much we all inspire each other and how much we are all like a family. All anyone needs to do is take a moment to hear our individual stories and you will be so inspired that you may even want to offer your support to Runway of Dreams when you see the positive difference it is making in the lives and families of people like me.”

“I remember during the Covid Pandemic when none of us could attend any in-person events and how much Runway of Dreams meant to me and all of us. We were able to participate in the Virtual Runway of Dreams Fashion Show during the worst of the pandemic.”

We then asked him to explain more about how Runway of Dreams and the Adaptive Fashion Industry have changed his outlook on life from simply living with a disability to becoming a part of a family of people who shine with disabilities?

J.Roy: ” It just makes me feel better to see us all shine in our own unique ways with Runway of Dreams. It feels so good to see the kindness of famous designers and popular fashion brands including people like me with disabilities more and more in the fashion industry and inviting us to the table. Runway of Dreams has been pivotal in helping the fashion and modeling industry to open its eyes to people like us and offer us inclusiveness and kindness in the fashion industry like never before.”

We finally asked J.Roy if he could share his global perspective on the positive impact of the adaptive fashion industry on the world. With a little assistance, he showed us the following on his smart tablet:

J.Roy:  “I think the numbers speak for themselves. All we need to do is watch the global adaptive fashion market and see how it’s taking off like a rocket.”

We decided to take a look at his smart tablet and googled the adaptive fashion industry. Sure enough, the latest research and recent records show that even around the pandemic this industry was valued in U.S. currency at 1,259.1 million and approached 2.10 billion by the time everyone started to go back to school and work. And so, by all indications, this industry is still projected to grow even further to as much as 5.57 billion by 2028 according to market research. At this,  rate, Runway of Dreams will continue to have an even greater positive impact on many more people living with disabilities in the world.
