HOW TO LOOK FORWARD TO A FUTURE IN THE BELLY OF COVID-19
Today we are looking at how we can look forward to a positive future despite the fact that many of us may  experience deep sadness over all that we have lost to Covid-19 from family, friends and loved ones to our jobs and livelihood. Our team created an affirmation to help us look forward to a positive future.Â
“I LOOK FORWARD TO A POSITIVE FUTURE BY SAYING TO COVID-19 EVEN WITH ALL THE BAD YOU”VE DONE, Â LOOK AT ALL THE GOOD WE’VE DONE!” –The Lookability Team
We look at everything positive from from Food Pantry workers providing food to people in America and around the world, to volunteers delivering food to nurses and doctors in the hospitals, or all the virtual concerts that lift our spirits like: #DisneySingAlong,#OneWorldTogetheratHome,#Jersey4Jersey.
We also have another positive quotation that can help all of us look forward to a positive future.
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
-Â Mahatma Ghandi
Keeping this in mind, we  came up with a short list of positive steps that we can take to help us look forward to a positive future..
Here are the Top 5 things we have started doing to look forward to a brighter future .
1. We continue to wear our face masks and wash our hands which goes without say but we look to purchase a mask with positive designs and look to personalize our masks with positive stickers  not only on our kids’ face masks but on our own face masks as well. Â
 2. We make an effort to avoid listening to negative things or expressing negative thoughts as much as possible. For example:
-  Choosing positive stories to watch instead of viewing sad stories for the day. For instance, we make an effort of selecting positive stories on the news to watch especially stories of the unseen Heroes of Covid-19.
3. We do our best to look at the positive side of every situation. Here are some examples:
- The positive side of Stay@Home Advisories and Lockdowns is like oxygen for us.  We see how self-isolating & social distancing can likely lead to  stronger family bonds with family members when we are spending more quality time playing games together, eating meals together or even sewing masks for essential Frontline workers together.Â
- The other side of the brighter side self-isolating with family can also be a reality. For instance the darker side of being shut-in with family members indoors for hours on end could lead to disputes and fights and even increased domestic violence. As a result, one positive thing we can do is to keep critical numbers like the National  Hotline Domestic Violence Hotline for the United States handy on our cell phones or private calendar and journals especially during this difficult time The number is listed as 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) in the U.S. online. This is good to keep handy if not for yourself then your neighbors,
- We also realize that self-isolating can lead to anyone of us feeling alone, afraid and experiencing a lost of  interest in life especially after a loss of a job or especially after witnessing so many deaths from Covid-19 since none of us are completely immune to the social-emotional and mental health impact of Covid-19 or the toll it has taken on all of us.  Dark feelings,anxiety,on-going insomnia and stress or distress and other symptoms are real. Sometimes we can feel alone especially during the Holidays which can be a very festive time yet a very lonely time with social distancing measures in place  to keep our loved ones safe and it can even be lonelier for some of us who feel like we have no loved ones left. We need to look out for each other from the next door neighbor to the neighbors down the block or  in the next town. We should keep numbers for our local Family Crisis Hotlines handy as well. It tends to be the kind of phone numbers no one ever really wants  to acknowledge but it’s necessary to keep handy especially the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline which is listed as  800-273-TALK (8255) in the U.S.online.Please search your online for the respective numbers if you are outside of the United States in other international countries and keep these numbers handy if not for you then for a friend who is feeling down.Â
Whether you are temporarily staying home from work to work from home or whether you
are a  Stay at Home Mom or Dad, married or single, or an Essential Worker
on the Frontlines, it’s important to keep all our heads up and think of all that we still
have in our life to be thankful for. Keep in mind when we lose any one of us, we have lost
      one too many.
Our Brand Ambassador shared the following Artwork he created for Frontline &
Essential Workers as well as it is for all of us. He tells us he has placed this piece of Â
artwork next to his favorite cushion at home and he says he wants this to be a reminder
to All of Us to  be strong.

It goes without say that we keep the local Police and Fire Stations numbers handy. They are our example of what it means to be strong. #AmericaStrong.Â
Plus our team would like to spread the word to others who may live outside the USA to be strong as well. We would also like to remind those living outside the USA that it’s a good idea to obtain similar emergency numbers for vital services like these in your own countries and place it somewhere handy so you will have it handy in a place where you can easily use it if necessary.
4. Our 4th tip is when we  post positive quotations around our office and home like this because we love inspirational quotations everyday. Here is a favorite quotation we like.
“We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.” -Â Maya Angelou
5.. Last but not least, we  look for positive websites and positive hashtags to utilize anywhere, anytime. Â
Positive Hashtags are our favorite because we believe they spread love, hope and strength to the world and remind us that we are not  alone. For example, two of our favorites hashtags are:
#AloneTogether Â
#AllinThisTogether
