All PostsHOW TO LOOK ALIVE & LIVE LIFE LIKE A STAY@HOME HERAll Posts
Today we are looking at how we can all begin to look alive and live life like a Stay-At-Home Hero while we are still in quarantine or social distancing and self-isolating.
Most of us are pretty much in the same boat unless we are part of the essential & front line worker team. Virtually all of us are home bound and practicing social distancing during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Here a quote that my make us feel better about having to stay home.
“Ah! There is nothing like staying home, for real comfort.” Â Â Â Â Â Â Â – Jane Austen
Well we asked our New Normal Brand Ambassador and Model, JamesRoy to tell us if he could provide us with his perspective  on our latest topic.
Here is what he shared with us.
I am making the best of things just like every last one of us who is self-isolating and social distancing. Some of us who are essential workers have to go to work outside the home but I work on my remote learning classwork inside the home.Â
My teacher actually gave me an assignment recently where I had to watch a video then define what a Hero was?Â
I wrote that a hero was “an ordinary person who does extraordinary things” because this was what I literally learned from watching the video.Â
Luckily my teacher did not ask me to tell her who was the first person to say this quote  because a whole lot of people are saying this quote today and I am not sure who said it first.Â
Before the Covid-19 Pandemic I always thought of heroes as 9/11 Heroes and even became somewhat fixated with learning about the heroes of 9/11 by watching online documentary videos. Now with the unprecedented events and number of deaths that surpass 9/11 as well as school closures due to Covid 19, I see the essential Frontline workers as heroes but I never gave much thought to Stay @ Home Heroes on the sidelines, yet now I see they can be considered heroes too, just by staying home and doing amazing things to help solve the problems or challenges we face with Covid-19.Â
I would say the list for Stay @ Home Heroes is long but here is a short list. It’s just a few examples of the ways that people can be heroes who help conquer Covid-19.Â
1. People who make masks at home for nurses, doctors & Frontline workers who need PPE
2. Parents who make sacrifices to feed their children plus play the role of teachers during
the remote learning process for several hours a dayÂ
3. Teachers & Students who solve challenges like how to hold a graduation/prom in  a safe
but creative ways while schools are closed due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
I do see the  potential for even more Stay@Home Heroes working from Home. Of course, we’ll have good days and bad days. I have certainly had my share of bad days especially with the social-emotional impact on students with school closures. However, I now realize that anyone of us who is just an ordinary person can be a hero when we discover what we can do and do it really well then we can really do extraordinary things.
We thanked our Brand Ambassador for sharing his thoughts on this topic.Â
Below our Lookability Team has some great ideas & trivia for you to look at!

It’s Our Lookability Fashion & Money Saving Tips
1. Look to do affordable creative projects that you can do at home easily & be sure that you consider any and everything.Â
For example, if you are good at woodworking. Build a mini Pool Table or  Miniature Golf Course Table and deliver it to the Break Room at your Nearest Hospital for Frontline Workers so they can get a well deserved break from seeing Covid-19 patients who don’t all make it out of the Hospital alive. This project may be easier than you think because with a little  affordable wood and felt, you may be surprised how easy it is to make and imagine the surprised smiles on the faces of the nurses and doctors when you deliver it to the break room at the Hospital. If the Hospital Workers do not have space it then someone else in need in your community will need it. You can always contact the Hospital to check if they have space for your project before you do it.
2. Save money by asking local stores like Home Depot if they would provide you with a special Covid-19 discount for projects like these.
3.Again, we have all heard of people making masks for Frontline workers and you can too. As you are already aware, all you’ll mainly need is fabric, elastic strips, and a sewing machine or sewing kit.
You can also check to see if stores are offering a special Covid-19 Discount for the supplies you need from your local Craft Stores for Frontline worker projects like these.
