Today we are looking at almost everything from how to plan our life to planning recipes while in self-isolation.  Whether you are still working on your New Year’s Resolutions or not, you should come as you are and plan as you are. No worries, no pressure.

Self-isolating tends to give us  additional  time to make plans ranging from everything from our day to day routines, grocery shopping & food recipes and even plans for our life once the Covid -19 advisories and lockdowns are lifted.

Many of us in isolation have to juggle work schedules, remote learning and meals and more.

The saying, “Out of the Mouths of Babes”  comes to mind when we asked our Brand Ambassador and model, JamesRoy to weigh in on this when we presented him with the  topic- How I Plan My Life & Remote Recipes in Self-isolation. We asked him if he could think of any plans he is making since his schools closed or any recipes he likes. We also asked him if he could  think of any quotes he enjoys about food.

Here is what he shared with us below.

For me it’s been like if life stopped and the world just suddenly stopped with Covid-19. So I would say I am not looking to plan too far ahead right now. When I look at so many families in America who don’t have food and see them making plans to see which Food pantry is closest to their homes,  only to wait in long lines to get the food they need to feed their families, I think of these images every time I eat.

Regarding any of my plans,   I am pretty much  just looking to get through my remote learning classwork, every day and  every week successfully and keep all the families impacted by Covid-19 in my thoughts and prayers.

Regarding recipes I like, I would say I  have also been making plans to have my Mom make a restaurant-style spaghetti dinner while I am at home.

Here are my own personal tips to make any spaghetti recipe taste like you’re eating at a restaurant and not at home in self-isolation.

Plate of spaghetti topped with meatballs and marinara sauce, garnished with parsley.

It’s important to cook your pasta the way you like it. I like my Spaghetti cooked  completely but other people can cook their Spaghetti al dente style or to the level of firmness they like. I will sometimes stand in the kitchen and attempt to tell my Mom how to prepare and cook my food but one day she told me to go ahead and show her how I would make her spaghetti sauce dinner better.

I accepted her challenge. Then she shared the following quotation with me.

“The secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.”

-Mark Twain

So basically I suggested very nicely to my Mom that  to achieve the best taking restaurant style spaghetti like the way I like it, she will have to focus on the sauce because  I will say that the secret is in the sauce.   I select my favorite Tomato Sauce and give it a little extra pizzazz by adding add extra garlic and basil the way I like it. .

In addition , I sometimes add my favorite veggies to make it a veggie-style spaghetti. Other times, I will combine  meatballs and slices of Italian Sausages. Plus It doesn’t hurt to add a sense of fashion & style  to my dining room table by adding a bunch of beautiful flowers.. You’ll find a fresh array of lavender roses with a touch of  white and cream roses on my  table at home. It’s especially nice to prepare a home cooked meal like this for my Mom on special occasions like Mother’s Day.

-Bon Appetit

And I would also like to express how I think it’s wonderful to see so many volunteers delivering delicious food to our Frontline workers.

It’s our Lookability Fashion & Money Saving Tips

1. Look for ways to add fashion to your kitchen table or dining room table by adding your favorite fresh flowers or roses. Save money by picking the flowers or roses fresh from your garden or going to your local Farmer’s Market.

2. Do your homework when you shop for the groceries that you need. Be on the look out for the weekly discounts and sales not only at your favorite grocery store but compare prices with supermarkets or department stores and local Asian markets that sell many of the items you use sometimes at better prices.
