Why I Call My Make-Up Trend Less Is More

When it comes to make-up, I think we can simply say -to each his own- because we all like to wear make-up exactly how we like it. 

In 2024, the trend that works best for me is all about less makeup. I prefer not to put on any heavy foundations on my skin and just let my skin be and let it breathe. 

Here’s what my daily routine looks like. 

When I get up in the mornings, I  incorporate a gentle, mild water-based cleanser and if I decide to use an oil-based cleanser then I like to buy earth-friendly plant-based products. 

I will also use a mild, clarifying liquid/lotion Exfoliator or a gentle toner.

I generally try to get in an antioxidant serum and spot treatment too.

Then I use a light moisturizer- just about two pea-sized drops on my face plus sunscreen.

 As for make-up, I may use a light foundation, bronzer, and blush.

So as nothing will be too heavy on my face that could lead to clogging of my pores, if I do wear any make-up like foundation, bronzer, or blush, I apply it so lightly that it really makes a statement that less is more. 

But as long as my skin looks healthy and bright unless I have a professional meeting or event to attend, I just go about my day without anything more on my skin.

My Nighttime Routine is like any other woman who needs to cleanse her face and remove make-up at nights. I use an oil-based makeup remover and a water-based cleanser then an exfoliator liquid. I follow this with a hydrating toner. 

I may also use a serum and spot treatment.  If I have time and am not too sleepy, I use a hydrating serum or mask and follow with  eye cream, light face oil, and a night cream or sleep mask.
